Tuesday morning. You prepare the breakfast for the kids, the dog is wandering around the kitchen in the hope that something will fall off the table, the daughter struggles with the buttons of her blue sweater. The table speckled with cocoa stains stands in the center of the action. There are toys scattered around, a bitten apple, voices and laughter are heard, there is a rush. Those are some of the things that you could not document and regret in 2043.
You’re about to leave the house, rushing to your business. In a moment you will realize that this ordinary morning has become a memory. And although you still have thousands of similar mornings, afternoons and evenings ahead of you, you can come back to this particular one in a few moments. How? With the pictures.
Little moments today, big memories tomorrow
Yes, photos. Surely you have dozens, maybe even hundreds. On your phone, computer, Instagram. What if one day you reached for completely different photos? Take them out of a beautiful box, feel the paper in your hands, its smell. Keep your eyes on pictures as real as the soup stain on your child’s blouse. By writing this, I mean unposed photos that show you and your loved ones on a seemingly ordinary day … This is the magic of family documentary photography – the magic of the truest photos.
I do family reportage because I know that when we miss the past, those ordinary moments we miss the most. I remember my mother’s favorite blouse. My daily journey to primary school. Playing around with my brother. If I had to go back to the past today, I would go back to a normal day.
Pure emotions without posing
In a world full of photos, at a time when we are surrounded by thousands of images, naturalness is more and more important. A family reportage is the perfect way to show and record it. What is it about? For a few hours, I become a discreet witness to your everyday life. All you have to do is just… be yourself. Without posing, without standing in front of the lens and worrying about “will I really look well in the pictures”. During those few hours, emotions are recorded. All of them. There is room here for laughter, but also for the tears of a few-year-old rushing over a broken knee. The thoughtful expression of your daughter on her way back from school, the games of the kids in the next room or the ritual of evening reading – I register such moments by looking through the lens without completely interfering with what you are doing.
An ordinary day with a photographer at your side
A family documentary photography has one more important advantage – you are all in the photos. You probably like taking pictures of your kids. Think on how many of them are you together? How often do you manage to capture a moment of having fun together, cooking in the kitchen or a few moments of laziness on the couch?
“If you think photos are not important, wait until you have only them“
Thanks to the family photography, you can have fantastic photos without thinking about them, without paying attention to them. I know, you are probably wondering what it’s like to spend an ordinary day with a photographer by your side. Hear the shutter button at various times. I can assure you it’s easier than you think. I have the skills of a chameleon 🙂 I blend in with my surroundings and totally adapt to the rhythm of your family. You don’t even know when you will stop noticing me.
Real moments captured in photos
I love taking family photos! Each photo is a story, emotions, relationships. On an ordinary day, there is an abundance of them, only being in the rush all the time we does not always notice it. A few hours of an ordinary Monday or Thursday contain the element, spontaneity, but also moments of reflection or rituals. Even more happens when your grandparents or friends accompany you on such a day. It happens that after many years we want to return to such moments, we look for photos, souvenirs and we regret that we did not take care of them then.
I will capture an ordinary day with duties in the background, but also a crazy Saturday, and even holidays under palm trees. You decide which moments you want to capture and I will be happy to do it! Place is of secondary importance here. Traveling is an important part of my life – I take photos in Poland, Spain and other places around the world.
Today it’s just photos, but in the future …
Family documentary photography is like wine – its value grows over time. The well-worn phrase “Children grow so fast” is painfully true. We all know it, but we don’t think about it on a daily basis. Today it seems distant, but in a dozen or so years you will be at a different point in your life. Maybe you will move and the kids will go to college? It will be nice then to come back to Tuesday morning. See the son’s mischievous smile, his rushing daughter on her way to kindergarten.
Real moments captured in photos have the extraordinary power that they activate incredible amounts of memory. Suddenly you come back to this place. You remember what you ate, what music was playing in the background and what story your daughter told as she left for kindergarten. Such photos are also a great souvenir for children. If you also have to dig through family albums in search of photos other than those from school or Christmas, you surely know what I’m talking about. Single, found photos with a younger brother or a small daughter becomes worth their weight in gold.
Today, in the vortex of everyday life, stop for a moment and think about saving pieces of it for later. A family reportage is an extraordinary key to the past, precious for you and your loved ones. Its job is to capture your “here and now” so that you can return to it on a rainy afternoon in 2043.
I have in my offer the family reportage session so I can also document your family life.
