‘ Sometimes you will never know the value of the moment until it becomes a memory ‘- D. Seuss
I’m Aleksandra Dynaś, (or just Ola) a documentary photographer based in Barcelona, working internationally with brands, agencies, and individuals.
My background is in photojournalism, which means I don’t approach photography by directing moments – but by understanding them.
I specialize in:
My work has been published in El País, La Vanguardia, National Geographic, El Periódico, El Nacional, and 5W, and recognized with different awards and my photos were winners in international competitions such as the ND Awards and Chromatic Awards.
I was selected for the Canon & Magnum Photos Program for Young Photographers, and I have exhibited my work in Spain and Poland.
Before photography became my full focus, I studied Finance and International Relations and I worked with former Polish President Lech Wałęsa – an experience that shaped how I observe people, leadership, and the moments that happen around them.
I’ve been traveling solo since I was 15, visiting over 60 countries and living in 7.
That experience changed how I see people.
You learn quickly that no matter the language or culture, the most important moments are always the same –
connection, tension, emotion, presence.
It also teaches you how to enter a space quietly, adapt fast, and gain trust without forcing it.
That’s exactly how I work with a camera.
Alongside commercial work, I photograph social issues and long-term documentary projects.
I’m also a speaker, sharing insights on photography, travel, and independence in talks, podcasts and festivals , and international events.
I’m a member of NoSinFotografas, This is Reportage: Familiy and a polish biggest organization of professional photographers ZPAF.
My work is driven by a simple idea:
real moments carry more value than staged perfection.
