Documentary and Reportage

“The strongest documentary photographs don’t explain the world. They make us question what we thought we knew.”

Alongside my commercial work, I work on documentary and reportage projects in Spain, Poland and internationally.

I’m drawn to stories about social inequality, childhood and women’s lives, particularly those that are difficult to understand from a distance.

Photography gives me a reason to stay, observe and listen before trying to tell those stories.

The work here includes photographs from long-term projects I have developed in Africa, Asia and America over the past few years.

I also wrote an article about ten documentary photographs that have stayed with me and influenced the way I think about photography and its role in how we understand events, people and history.
